Computer Bugs? A real bug.
2026
Inspired by the story of the moth found inside Harvard’s Mark II computer in 1947, this work explores the unexpected origin of the term “bug” in computer programming. The incident highlights the amusing contrast between a tiny insect and a massive machine, revealing how an ordinary accident became a memorable moment in computing history.
Through this work, I reinterpret the historical event and reflect on the unexpected ways that language, technology, and everyday occurrences intersect.
